Sammi Narehood, Office Assistant & Jennifer Nellis, Director

The Madison County Historical Society (MCHS) would like you to meet our staff. We are very excited to have two very energized employees ready to assist with the history of Madison County and its residents.

Sammi Narehood is the Office Assistant who has been at the society since August 2025. She brings with her extensive office experience. If you attended the annual dinner last Fall, you got to meet Sammi as she sold raffle tickets and handed out those door prizes. She has been overseeing the running of the operations including scheduling the recent Ukrainian Pysanka Egg Painting workshop which was a big hit. Sammi’s passion for history is refreshing as she helps with research projects and our collection.

Jennifer Nellis has joined MCHS as the Director. She was most recently the Assistant to the Museum Director at Munson and prior to that worked at the Oneida City School District. Jenn is a highly organized administrative professional with extensive experience supporting executive leadership, managing complex office operations, and coordinating high-level communications. Many of you know Jenn for her involvement in the Oneida community. We are excited to have her on board.

Come meet our staff. Our Farmers Market returns to the Cottage Lawn every Tuesday beginning June 9th and running through August 25th from 2-6pm. MCHS, in partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension will participate in Open Farm Days on Saturday July 26; and our 62nd Annual Craft Festival returns on September 12th and 13th. You can also call the society to book a tour and make a visit.
